2010 Update:

1st in the world to complete
Interest in our 24,000 piece puzzle has been steadily growing and we have an ever-increasing number of completions. Congratulations to all who have met the challenge .. and won! It is quite an achievement.
The main puzzle page (www.worldslargestpuzzle.com) and this site are done in our ever-decreasing spare time so we have decided to add this blog and forum and Hall of Fame in the hope that you can all discuss things amongst yourselves and help each other out with suggestions and encouragement.
We will pop in here often too, and help out whenever we can.
Hall of Fame
The main site has the first 100 Hall of Fame entries. From now on it is up to you to make your own claims as the First In Your Country .. or your city .. or town .. or school. The fastest, the slowest, the youngest, the oldest, whatever you like – it is all unofficial and others may dispute it. Be sure to check through the 1st 100 Hall of Fame entries before making your claim. If you have images of your puzzle completion, or your own blog or video, you are welcome to make a link to them in our pages.
Click over to the new 2010 Hall of Fame page to stake your claim HERE.

I am starting to design a new type of jigsaw and would like comments on what makes a jigsaw easy to complete and what makes doing a jigsaw enjoyable. Please contact me at the email address above. Thank you for reading this.
Hello from France !
it is done ! 18 months to do this puzzle.
Now I have to stick it.
best regards
Isabelle
Hip hip hooray! My long awaited box will arrive tomorrow (according to UPS tracking), and I will finally get to start on this puzzle that I have been researching, discussing, and drooling over for about a year now. Ever since I found the website for the World’s Largest Puzzle and saw how beautiful the image was I have wanted to make this puzzle. I know I won’t be in time to get on the original Hall of Fame, but hopefully I will be able to add my name and story to the 2010 Hall of Fame on this site instead. I do plan to do a blog about my experience and take lots of pictures so I can track the progress.
Hurry up UPS man….I wanna start my puzzle! LOL

Started sorting on the first section. Wow, what a chore! I created a blog to track my progress if anyone is interested in looking at it. http://pennysjigsawblog.blogspot.com/

Well done on tasking the challenge. i enjoyed the humor in your posts. Janet
Whoops. I didn’t read my reply before clicking submit. Here it is again without the typo’s!
‘Well done on taking the challenge. I enjoyed the humor in your blog posts’.
Perhaps typing ‘tasking’ intead of ‘taking’ was an subconcious slip because I was thinking how patient you must be to do all the sorting by yourself. I’d be wanting to call a neighhood rally so get the sorting part done so I could get stuck into assembling! Janet
I live in Nassau County and trying to put a 1000 pc. puzzle together by sunsout called santa’s list. I am wondering if anyone in my area would like to put it together for a fee. I am getting stuck and frustrated by it, any help would be great. thanks, sharon
Thanks Janet! I am very much enjoying the process so far. (Now, if I could only get my dining room table back…I could make a lot further progress!) Glad you enjoyed the humor in the blogs. I always like to inject some comedy when I write.
Thanks for looking. Have you completed the puzzle yourself too?
Penny
any tips on gluing a puzzle? can you glue the back without gluing the front? thanks
Sharon, if you take a look at the hall of fame section on the original worldslargestpuzzle.com website, you’ll see the first to complete story of Scott and PJ Slater. They have a detailed accounting of how they used contact paper, contact adhesive, and foam board to “glue” the puzzle together without touching the front of the puzzle. They hung it on the wall and it looks great. They outline their technique pretty well if you read their detailed entry about it.

Ciao io sarei interessata a fare il puzzle ma non ho una parete così lunga…ho visto che in delle foto il puzzle è stato messo su due pareti quindi ad angolo come si fa ad incollarlo così????non si rovina????
Hello I would be interested in doing the puzzle but I have a wall so long … I saw that picture of the puzzle was put on two walls at an angle so how do you paste it?? Not ruin it??
Hello,
I have an important question for anyone who’ll answer. Here is the email I sent to the company.
I’m interested in purchasing one of your puzzles. The only thing is I won’t be putting it on a vertical wall. I want to put the world’s largest puzzle on a flat surface that juts out at an angle.
Here is a crude diagram.

I’d like to put it on the inside with screws and plexiglass. A plank of wood will be nailed on the small vertical space to prevent the puzzle from slipping down. Please let me know if this sounds plausible or is the puzzle too heavy for my idea. I can also get a better picture if necessary.

Hello,
My wife and I were the first in the world to complete the 24000 piece LIFE puzzle back in 2007. You can see our entry in the HOF http://worldslargestpuzzle.com/hof.html here. As you may know there is now a new largest puzzle that is 32000 pieces called “Double Retrospect” and is made by Ravensburger. We just received the puzzle a couple days ago and are starting it tonight. We won’t be the first in the world to complete this one since I have already seen a YouTube video of a completed puzzle. However, you can follow our progress on our blog at: http://slaterpuzzles.blogspot.com

Jo!!! from Russia.
I want to buy this puzzle and build a house to place it. Price is here about 15 000 rub (500$). how much did you pay for “Life”? maybe it’s lower to buy in e-bay?
How do you put the puzzle on the wall over a corner like Simon in Denmark did ? Would you have to cut it??
Think this has got to be the most beautiful piece of artwork I have seen. I live in the Washington, DC area and am looking for folks who might want to challenge themselves to this task…tried to find a jigsaw puzzle group in the area but couldn’t find one…so if anyone knows of any in my area please reply
Just finished the puzzle for the 4th time (mixing all the pieces)!! I was trying to raise $24,000 for Autism Speaks – a $1 a puzzle piece- so far I have raised $6,000!
I documented the entire process- creating a video and everything!
Check out my website: http://www.everypiececounts.com and you can also find us on Facebook and Twitter!
Thanks Royce B. McClure for creating the most beautiful and amazing puzzle out there
